Colloque International Eco - Campus 3, 14 -16 October 2015, Paris

In January 2012, a conference organized jointly by the Conference des Presidents d’Université (CPU) and the Conference des Grandes écoles (CGE), was held at UNESCO. Entitled "Eco-campus - training and corporate social responsibility: strategies of transition from the European institutions of higher education", that symposium was designed to present the initiatives on corporate social responsibility of institutions of higher education at the European level. The momentum generated by this Conference as well as the positive feedback of the 450 participants and partners have led to renew this event at a second Conference "Towards sustainable campuses?", organized in Nantes, on 7 and 8 November 8, 2013, by the University of Nantes and the Ecole des Mines of Nantes, with the active support of the CPU and the CGE. Meanwhile in July 2012, the international community of higher education, France in mind, marked the spirits in realizing the most important operation of voluntary commitments on the occasion of the international Summit of Rio + 20: the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI).

Taking advantage of the opportunity of holding the COP21 in France in December 2015, it was decided to organize a third Eco-campus symposium slightly upstream of this great international event in order to assert the importance of the institutions of higher education as agents of climate change.
