Partners are encoraged to develop heir own ideas and suggestions for collaborations where the LRCE can add value. The co-odination of th LRCE projects are undertaken at a project level and infomation fed back to the LRCE Director. The participation of partners is an area of opportunity that the LRCE wishes to develop in its next phase.

9. Educational activities :
Three LRCE flagship projects are directly concerned with education and aimed at formal and informal influencers in London ( and beyond). We strongly beleive that there are organisations that operate within ESD priciples who are not aware of the extent of the research and and practitioner information that exists. Therefore the role of the LRCE, in this respect , is to ensure that wider networks of those already engaing with ESD and SD are aware of each other so that deeper collaborations can be formed.
10. Competences and capabilities :
The key competences being shaped by RCE activities are:
- Developing an appreciation of larger strategic frameworks within which projects can be sustained
- Clarifying and synthesising the RCE messages so that they are heard by a range of audiences
- Widening networks

This competencies are hightlighted as they have come from the experience of co-ordinating the work of the LRCE this year.

The LRCE has no formal reseach programme at present. There have been a number of applications for research funding that have not been successful this year , partly due to the general economic climate. We hope to reapply for research funding in 2011/12.

We are hoping to develop research associated with the new project under development with organisations in the east end of London in proximity to the Olympic Park. This proposed research will aid the aim of embedding and extending knowledge of sustainability issues to the new communities which will live on the Olympic Park.
14. Research partners :
We have no active research projects at present.
