1. Vision of your RCE: 
The regional and specific objectives of RCE Southern North Sea are to develop ESD through resource effective means, such as the generation of business tools for progression in sustainable development; the organization of development initiatives to help promote sustainable development in education through educating youth leaders or empowering young people; and the development of community links with higher education institutes.
RCE Southern North Sea plans to raise awareness of sustainable development in the region whilst providing a suitable framework for the best practice of sustainable development, with goals being:
• Developing knowledge and awareness of sustainable development and education for sustainable development within the Southern North Sea region by facilitating the exchange of knowledge, ideas and networks within this context.
• Supporting stakeholders in integrating local sustainable development challenges into the formal and informal education and training practices of the region.
• Stimulating dialogue between a wide range of local stakeholders such as NGOs, industry, social partners and different levels of government.
• Initiating inter-regional collaboration with other RCEs.

United Nations University – Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS)
UNU-CRIS, located in Bruges since October 2001, is a research and training programme of the United Nations University which focuses on research and network development.

Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen (HOWEST)
The University College of West Flanders is a member of the Ghent University Association.

Katholieke Hogeschool Zuid-West-Vlaanderen (KATHO)
KATHO, the Catholic University College of South-West Flanders, is the largest institution for higher education in West-Flanders.

De Kaap
Since 2002, De Kaap has been the starting centre of the Bruges region and is recognized as such by the Flemish Community.

Katholieke Hogeschool Brugge-Oostende (KHBO)

The RCE-SNS has been collaborating with other RCEs through European Programmes:
* Youth in Action - Training Youth Leaders in Sustainable Lifestyles coordinated by RCE East Midlands
* Mobility programme / Leonardo Da Vinci Programme along with RCE East Midlands and RCE Hamburg.
At the moment, RCE-SNS is working on the setting up of a pan-European association of RCEs. In order to contribute to the discussion on this idea, the RCE released a non-paper in March 2010.

9. Educational activities : 
RCE-SNS participated in the Youth in Action project “Training Youth Leaders in Sustainable Lifestyles” which mainly focused on learning how to facilitate youth activities around sustainable development issues as well as on the exchange of experiences and information.
Moreover, the RCE is also working on the INTERREG project “EDU to DO” with the aim to integrate sustainable development in the curricula in the agriculture, building and tourism sectors in the Southern North Sea region and to re-orient education in a way that meets the needs of the labour market.
10. Competences and capabilities : 
The INTERREG project had the aim to develop competences and skills for sustainable development amongst young people, workers and trainers. The proposal includes a pilot project integrating the agriculture, tourism and building sectors, where there will be the opportunity to practice those skills.
