RCE Crete Partners for MSc in Climate Change, Sustainable Agriculture, and Food Security

RCE Crete is a partner of a European Commission funded programme ‘Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education’ within the ERASMUS framework. The project focuses on the development of an MSc programme in Climate Change, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security held at Jerash University (Jordan) and the Suez Canal University (Egypt). The project involves four universities from Jordan and four universities from Egypt.

[Good Practice case]Day for Sustainable Society@Chungryeol Girl's High School, Tongyeong

 

This is a short project report written and translated to English by students at Chungryeol Girl’s High School in Tongyeong, Korea. During her sociology class, teacher Ms. Hong Dosoon led students to think about sustainable development issues and find ways to make a small difference during their everyday school life. This short summary depicts some of the projects the girls have initiated in class, currently still in action.

CEE Himalaya integrates religion with biodiversity conservation and environment protection

In ancient times, trees were worshipped in the form of sacred groves, and animals were taken care of as form of Gods. However, with the current religious practices adopted, the trend seems to have been reversed causing unsustainable harvest of plants and endangering of animals. RCE Srinagar with CEE Himalaya launched an education programme to study the religious practices adopted and their impact on biodiversity and environment.

RCE Minna Youth Network Collaborate to hold Inter-Schools Debate Championship

The Regional Center of Expertise (RCE) Minna Collaborate with Young People for Africa Development (YPAD) and African Center of Extra-Curricular Research and Development (ACERAD) to hold an Inter-Schools Debate Championship with the Theme: Youth, Education and Independence. The programme is schedule to hold on the 1st October, 2015 which is exactly thesame with Nigeria's Independence Day.

Review of RCE Severn

Celebrating its 8th year, RCE Severn has taken stakeholder feedback and undergone review by independent consultants NetPositive. Committed to continuous improvement, this has been a timely review, incorporated into an institutional University of Gloucestershire’s Promising Future Sustainability Strategy 2009–2015 review.

 

The review explored learnings of the past eight years, aiming to enhance the effectiveness and value of the RCE’s network. A panel of experts and peers contributed to this process considering findings of the review and identifying future pathways.

RCE Global Youth Network_RCE Kakamega Western Kenya

RCE Global Youth Network

RCE Kakamega Western Kenya is a network of existing formal, non-formal and informal education organisations, mobilised to deliver education for sustainable development (ESD) to local and regional communities of Kakamega County, Bungoma County, Busia County and Vihiga County in Kenya. It is hosted and Coordinated by Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST). The contact person is Ombajo Misava Edward- Main contact and Angule Gabriel is the Alternate contact. The RCE has implemented a number of activities in which youth are involved.
