COP27 Action Hub Event - Beyond Classrooms: Education as a Mechanism for Community Climate Action

This side event of the UN Climate Change Conference 2022 (UNFCCC COP27) in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, will discuss transformative community-based climate action and the importance of local solutions to global issues. Organised by UNU-IAS, it will share examples of education for sustainable development (ESD) projects implemented by the global network of Regional Centres of Expertise for ESD (RCEs).

2022 Dobong ESD Open Seminar

RCE Dobong-gu is holding the 'DEOS 2022 (2022 Dobong ESD Open Seminar)' under the theme of 'Our Wardrobe for Sustainable Fashion', in connection with the theme of 'sustainable fashion' in Project Neuru Season 2 this year. Through the voices of students participating in Project Neuru Season 2 and lectures from speakers who strive for sustainable fashion, the seminar will consider how we should practice and act for 'our wardrobe for sustainable fashion'.

Session Explores Innovative Use of ICT by RCEs and Contributions to Skills Development in Rural and Remote Areas

From 6-7 October, 2022, the Central Asian Symposium on ICT in Education (CASIE) was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, under the theme 'ICT-enabled Skills Development in Rural and Remote Areas.' RCEs in Americas Explore Collaborative Approaches in Times of Global Crises at Annual Regional Meeting

RCE Salisbury hosted the 11th Americas Regional Meeting from 3-5 October, 2022 to explore the theme 'Now, More than Ever! The RCE Network as a Peace Leader!', with the support of the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) and Ministry of the Environment, Japan.

RCE Hangzhou Holds Youth Policy Essay Writing Competition

RCE Hangzhou recently held the ‘Better Lancang-Mekong River' Youth Policy Essay Writing Competition, in collaboration with the Waterkeeper Alliance East Asia Region, Hanns Seidel Foundation, Lower Sesan River Waterkeeper, and 3S Rivers Protection Network. The writing competition was open to youth from the six countries along the Lancang-Mekong River. Its main focus was how to help achieve the co-governance and sharing of water resources by promoting communication among young people from those six countries, about sustainable protection and utilisation of the Lancang-Mekong River.

RCE Greater Western Sydney and RCE Lucknow Partner on Virtual Program on Land and Water Conservation

The 'Australia-India Land and Water Conservation Virtual Program' was an 8-week online program that was co-led, co-designed and co-taught by staff from Western Sydney University's Sustainability Education (RCE Greater Western Sydney) with academics from the School of Science, in partnership with the Centre for Environmental Education (RCE Lucknow) and the Australia-India Water Centre.
