Over 750 participants from 22 countries shared their thoughts on the role of education in realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), at the international conference ‘Education as a Driver for Sustainable Development Goals’, which began at CEE, on 11th January, 2016.

CEE Himalaya and JSW Foundation organize World’s Wetland Day 2016
On the occasion of World’s Wetland Day 2016, CEE Himalaya together with the JSW Foundation and RCE Srinagar organized a series of activities for the inhabitants of Kuroli village, a small and picturesque village, located in Bhatwari Block in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Youths, adults, elderly, school children, teachers, and many others participated in the event.
SDG Reports from the Commons Action Commons Cluster for the United Nations
The Nature Group Task Force of the Commons Cluster is growing rapidly. They now completed their report on integrating Nature into urban environments. So far reports on Integrating Nature into Education (SDG 4); and into Gender considerations (SDG 5) have been produced. Youth Leadership Summit: Shaping Future Leaders through ESD, 27-29 April, 2016, Kakamega, Kenya
Organised by the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) the main objectives of this summit are:
1) To inculcate leadership, innovative and entrepreneurial skills in participants
2) To bring youths together from the Western region with diverse agenda in realization of vision 2030 and beyond.
3) To promote the vision of MMUST as a Premier University in Science, Technology and Innovation.

RCE Graz-Styria reflects on local, regional and national GAP initiatives
RCE Graz-Styria, located at the University of Graz in Austria, and acknowledged as one of the first 20 RCEs in the global RCE has continuously implemented a wide range of research and education projects. The center has access to a broad network of scientific and societal partners. One of its partners is SEKEM Austria, a non-profit association to promote the SEKEM impulse in Egypt and Austria through networks and to strengthen the “Coalition of World Peace” through dialogue between orient and occident.
