WATCH: Official launch of RCE Murray-Darling (RCE-MD), Australia

The UN RCE-MD was officially launched in Albury Wodonga on 31 October 2013.  A number of partners agreed to showcase some of the Education for Sustainability (EfS) efforts.   We were very pleased that Costa attended the activities on the day and spoke at the official launch in the afternoon.

The day began with a tour of City of Wodonga's Waste Transfer Station where as many materials as possible are recycled rather than sent to landfill.  Highlights of that tour may be viewed here (6:42).

Next stop was the garden at Wodonga Middle Years College where students treated us to drinks flavoured from the fruits of their labours.  Highlights of that tour may be viewed here (5:10).

Birallee Park Neighbourhood House showcased its programs, innovations and gardens before offering us all lunch with food provided from both gardens (yum!).  Highlights of that tour may be viewed here (4:34).

Finally, Albury City Council's Banjora Childrens Centre introduced us to their many sustainability initiatives and the tour was extra special as the children and staff were dressed in Halloween costumes.  Highlights of that tour may be viewed here (5:08).

The official launch was hosted by Charles Sturt University and was followed by a spread of local food and drink.  Highlights of the official launch may be viewed here (8:25).

We greatly appreciate the assistance of those at CSU, City of Wodonga, Albury City Council, Wodonga Middle Years College, Birallee Park Neighbourhood House and Banjora Childrens Centre for their amazing efforts in making the day a success.  Thanks!!
