In Bogota, the process of urbanization, it has accelerated, not only due to industrialization, even because there are complex political and social reasons such as poverty and violence, which have motivated migration from the countryside the city throughout the twentieth century, determining an exponential growth of population in urban areas and the establishment of belts of misery in their surroundings. The disappearance of Wetlands in the city and deforestation of the eastern hills, are environmental problems as well as air pollution due to vehicular and industries that pollute with their chimneys.
Description of sustainable development challenge(s) in the area the project addresses: 
To contribute to the development of a sustainable society by integration and cooperation with national and international community for the climate change education, through teachers training that promote learning about the environment in the area of Bogota initially, but will gradually expand their activities to broader urban areas

Rationale: 
Although the country has a very low share in total global emissions, it has been occupying an important place in the top countries that emit the most greenhouse gases due to changes in land use and deforestation. "Colombia can be described as a country with low Threat and Average Levels of Sensitivity and Adaptive Capacity, which, however, due to the multiplicative effect of the relationship, combined generate a High Vulnerability to Climate Change." A commitment from Colombia, in terms of adaptation to climate change, is to strengthen the public education strategy on climate change. The policy proposes to define education strategies to achieve a cultural transformation with respect to climate change and ecosystem services. Teacher training is a meaningful step in order to achieve appropriate changes in education, aiming the sustainable development for our country.
Objectives: 
Establish lines of research on climate change for teacher training, in accordance with environmental and educational policies
Generate participatory and decision-making processes that promote critical and reflective thinking about the environment
Promote the development of action research projects in schools based on context problems related to climate change
Evaluate the participation of the educational communities and the changes produced in their knowledge and environmental practices
Activities and/or practices employed: 
Include climate change issues in teacher training curricula
Development of strategies and instruments for research climate change
Integrate different areas of knowledge for the identification of problems related to climate change
Create strategies to link educational communities to climate change projects
Educate about climate change from problem situations, proposals from the territorial scenarios, to articulate the reality of the context with the purposes of scientific training.

10 teachers and 350 students

Lines of research on climate change for teacher training
Development of action research projects in schools based on context problems related to climate change
Proposed solutions to the problems of climate change product of the participation and creative thinking of the educational community
Identify potentialities of the territory from the environmental, economic, social and cultural.
Promote a critical and reflective look on the environmental processes that is taking place in his school, in favor of his professional development and the successful inclusion of current issues such as climate change.
