5. Project description
Provide a short description of the project including strategies, regional challenges, aims and specific project activities.: 

Provide a short description of the project including regional challenges it addresses, its aims as well as project activities/strategies: Aims: (1) to establish a visible demonstration of permaculture techniques (“guild” installation) as related to small-scale fruit production, (2) to fund the project by access to grant monies and the in-kind contributions of community volunteer, local government and businesses, (3) to successfully complete the project through a partnership with the newly-formed local “Communities in Bloom” committee. Activities: (1) basic research with regards the project’s aims (examples include guild construction, possible sources of income, relevant land-use permission, potential sources for materials), (2) writing of 2 grant proposals for funding, (3) assembly of materials, (4) establishing a work schedule, (5) mobilizing work crews to complete the project. Regional Challenges the project addresses: (1) need for healthy food source alternatives, (2) need for increased attention to the issue of local food security
