Trang Province is a province in the southern part of Thailand. Its economy is characterized by services, agriculture, livestock, tourism, industry, and commerce. It has a great deal of ethnic and cultural diversity. It is a multicultural community with Thai, Chinese, Muslim, and Christian races. There are temples, shrines, and mosques. Trang is a tourist city because Trang has abundant natural attractions such as the sea, mountains, waterfalls, and caves. Trang's tourist attractions are numerous and attractive. The physical geography is a combination of plateaus and hills. The green mountains are the source of streams and rivers. Trang has more than 40 islands, such as Libong Island, which is known as a habitat for dugongs. Koh Kradan, with its crystal clear waters, was awarded the island with the most beautiful beach in the world in 2023.
Description of sustainable development challenge(s) in the area the project addresses:
Development Trang Municipality to be “City of Innovation for Sustainable Quality of Life” by introducing the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy. The philosophy that King Rama 9 (His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great) Guided the way of life for Thai people. Sufficiency means moderation, rationality, having a good immune system against impacts caused by internal and external changes. It relies on knowledge, prudence, and caution in applying various academic disciplines. used in planning and implementing every step. At the same time it must strengthen the mental foundation of people in the community, especially government officials and the public sector at all levels to be conscious of morality, honesty and appropriate knowledge. To live with patience, perseverance, mindfulness, wisdom and prudence to be balanced and ready to accommodate rapid and widespread changes in material, social, environmental and cultural aspects from the outside world as well. Development by encouraging people to apply the concept of the sufficiency economy philosophy to cover all communities which will strengthen communities and be self-reliant sustainably.

Rationale:
For this event, the Municipality School 3 (Ban Na Taluang) received a policy from Trang Municipality to participate in driving the Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development Trang (RCE Trang) by promoting students to be responsible for environmental security, economic survival, social justice, and respect for cultural diversity. The school has organized education for sustainable development by organizing systematic teaching and learning, providing additional courses called the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, which has a variety of content, including the Waste-Free School course, Making Compost in an Earth-Friendly Composting Tank, Making Leaf Compost, Cultivating Vegetables, Flowers, and Ornamental Plants, Growing Organic Vegetables for a Sufficient Life, Hydroponic Vegetable Growing, and Food Preservation.
Objectives:
1 To provide a learning resource for the sufficiency economy for sustainable development for children, youth, and people in the Na Taluang community and nearby areas to learn.
2 To develop the educational institution, Thesaban 3 School (Ban Na Taluang) into an integrated learning center for sustainable development for the community.
3 To conserve and maintain the core values of the sufficiency economy philosophy for children, youth, and people to use as a basis for sustainable living.

1 The Municipality School 3 (Ban Taluang) is a model for the development of a learning resource for a sufficient economy for sustainable development.

3 Disseminate and publicize the sufficient economy for sustainable development to children, youth, the general public, and RCE networks at all levels.

Lessons learned:
Implement the approach to promote quality of life in the community based on the philosophy of sufficiency economy, instill self-reliance in people, be aware of learning and practice, leading to income generation and expanding the network of model homes towards sustainable self-reliance.
