RCE Biodiversity Education Projects Featured in New Video

A new video highlighting the RCE Biodiversity Education Projects conducted during the Global Action Programme (GAP) on ESD, from 2015-2019, puts a spotlight on the range of innovative projects focused on biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration from the Global RCE Network.

A total of 135 RCE projects across 30 countries focused on SDG 14 (Life Below Water) or SDG 15 (Life on Land), and were tied to SDG 4 (Quality Education) along with a range of other goals.

A new publication from the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) has been launched today, featuring innovative biodiversity education projects developed by Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs).

RCE Youth Voices on Climate Action Join to Commemorate International Youth Day

Highlights:
  • The first ever RCE Youth Webinar was held on 11 August, 2021, commemorating International Youth Day 2021.
  • Five RCE youth members from Australia, Colombia, Zambia, Japan, and Denmark shared youth-led climate-action initiatives conducted in their RCE communities.
  • Key points of action identified within the breakout sessions included the integration of environmental education in schools, raising public awareness, and creating platforms to enable knowledge-sharing and community engagement.
