9. Initial motivation for the establishment of your RCE : 
RCE Graz-Styria was founded in the context of the UN decade
at the Department of Geography and Regional Science at University of Graz at its beginning and was institutionalised at Faculty of Environmental and Regional Sciences and Education in 2009. It serves as a contact point between university and society.

Since August 31st of 2007, RCE Graz-Styria is officially acknowledged by the United Nations University and contributes to a worldwide experience and knowledge transfer of regional aspects. RCE Graz-Styria offers activities in the fields of education and Lifelong Learning as well as creation of regional value for a sustainable development.
10. Vision of your RCE : 
The vision of RCE Graz-Styria is to create innovation for sustainable development in society by education, process development and knowledge exchange between global and local as well as science and practice.
11. Shift of focus : 
2010:
RCE Graz-Styria is focusing its mission and objectives on two focus groups:

- Transfer
- Intergenerational Learning
- Research
- Education
- Sustainable University

These focus groups are of rather equal importance whereas certain projects can belong to only one or another. In this respect a shift of focus is possible, however the aims as such stay the same.

2011: After 3 years of running the RCE Graz-Styria, we have gone through a strategy reflection an redifined your strategy according to the projects and experiences gone through during the last years.
Since 2011 our main competence fields are:
a. Education for Sustainable Development - focusing on Higher Education for SD activities adn
b. Sustainability Transitions and Strategies - working together with regional stakeholders from public and provate institutions in the development and assessment of regional sustainability strategies.

Project name: 
Sustainability Trail in Trofaiach
Status:

Short description Describe in 2-3 sentences: 
The Sustainability Trail consists of several boards that deal with different issues of SD (poverty, water...). These boards where developed and created together with a youth centre in Trofaiach (north-west from Graz, Styria) and installed on a trail in this village to be visible for everybody.

17. Main results and achievements
a) Advance towards objectives: : 
Referring to RCE Graz-Styria's focus groups (see above: 11.) every realized project and activity is a step towards its objectives.
c) Contributions to reforms and innovations: 
As mentioned before RCE Graz-Styria has been institutionalized at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Sports Sciences, Geography and Environmental Systems Sciences at University of Graz in 2009. This is a reform at university organization level that can be considered as an improvement for both university and RCE.

- The RCE contributed to the development of the Austrian National Strategy for ESD.
- The RCE was menber of the Austrian Delegaton for the DESD Bonn conference.
- The RCE is member of the Austrian UNESCO Commission Panel for ESD
- The RCE is member of the Advisory Board of the UN Global Compact Austria
