The release of ‘Sustainable Yokohama – A Guide by RCE Youth Members’

Launching today is the guidebook Sustainable Yokohama – A Guide by RCE Youth Members, crafted by Japan RCE Youth Members who are driving change in their local communities.

Japan RCE Youth Members visited local sustainability projects in Yokohama, Japan on 16 February during the 6th Japan RCE Youth Meeting. The meeting was co-organized by the Global RCE Service Centre, headquartered at the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), in collaboration with RCE Yokohama Youth Group, and supported by RCE Yokohama and Yokohama City.  Japan RCE Youth Members created the guidebook Sustainable Yokohama – A Guide by RCE Youth Members. This guidebook showcases innovative local initiatives contributing to the achievement of the SDGs in Yokohama, Japan. The handbook aims to capture the community's efforts from the perspective of youth, emphasizing the importance of local activities and collaboration among various stakeholders in the community. It also aims to underscore the significance of recognizing the diversity of the regions in practicing actions toward the SDGs and ESD within the local community. This initiative tries to inspire young people to advance the SDGs within their local communities, thereby contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 11 and Sustainable Development Goal 4.7 by 2030.
