Outcomes of the 4th RCE Conference of the Americas 2015

The 4th RCE Conference of the Americas was hosted by RCE Grand Rapids, USA from the 9th – 12th of August, 2015. Representatives from 11 regions spanning six nations of the Americas came together to present on projects from the past year, discuss regional and global sustainability challenges, and to collaborate on initiatives to move sustainability forward in the coming year.

Outputs emerging out of the conference include a Statement of Commitment to a Regional Strategic Plan for RCEs of the Americas, created to address three priority action areas:

REPORT OF RCE MINNA YOUTH NETWORK 2015 ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION

RCE Minna Round Table Discussion was organised by the RCE Minna Youth Network on 16th August, 2015 at the RCE Minna Resource Center. The program was aimed at bringing together RCE Youth and other youth organisation to foster strong youth commitment and action through volunteering to achieve Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

Cancelled Post WEEC Learning for Change workshop, 3 – 5 July 2015: New ‘RCE Open Space II’ Side Event on Friday 3 July 2015, 10:00-15:00

Due to the low number of registrations for the three day long “Learning for Change “- workshop during the weekend after the WEEC Conference, a single day Open Space Side Event from 10:00-15:00 is now envisioned as a feasible alternative.

2015 RCE Saskatchewan ESD Recognition Event

RCE Saskatchewan held its 7th annual ESD Recognition Event on May 6, 2015, at the University of Saskatchewan. For the third consecutive year, RCE Saskatchewan’s patron, Her Honour Vaughn Solomon Schofield, the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, joined Prof. Lyle Benko and Dr. Roger Petry, Co-coordinators of RCE Saskatchewan, in presenting award certificates to 24 deserving projects. The event began with welcoming remarks by Dr. Ernie Barber, Provost and VP Academic of the University of Saskatchewan followed by the Lieutenant Governor who delivered her guest remarks.
