Status:
Completed
Period:
October, 2022
Rationale:
In addition, we ask people around us to make handprint art, and create only one original art in the world. We would like to create an opportunity to connect people with the area and make it one of the new symbols of Omuta. I wanted to create a base where people from children to adults can enjoy connections that transcend generations.
Objectives:
The construction site supervisor, the youth team, and the World Heritage Cultural Property Office have three thoughts: to make Omuta a bright and energetic city.
Activities and/or practices employed:
Using the sawtooth oak tree, which is a tree in Omuta City, as a motif, we ask local residents to freely write what they think of Omuta and their dreams for the future on the leaf part, and attach a message card to complete the growth of the tree.
Size of academic audience:
20
Results:
At first, the painting was just a tree trunk, but by the end of the day, it was filled with many message cards and handprint art.
Lessons learned:
The reason for this success was the collaboration with the region, the youth team and the workshop.
The day was bustling with many participants.
Key messages:
Collaboration between regions and towns.
Young people lead and enliven.
Relationship to other RCE activities:
Funding from UNESCO Association.
