The Global RCE Service Centre of the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) is calling for applications for the 2012 pilot RCE Award to celebrate ‘good practices’ in education for sustainable development (ESD). The Award will recognize ESD projects, initiatives and activities that have translated existing local knowledge into concrete sustainability change practices, and empowered individuals and communities to make sustainable choices for the future. The nominated projects should provide evidence of involvement of diverse actors in addressing local sustainable development challenges through dialogue, education, research and multi-stakeholder learning. The pilot Award will be conferred during the 7th Global RCE Conference to be held from 21–24 September in Tongyeong, Republic of Korea.
