The PERZIM collections are in various forms including artefact, drawings, manuscripts, jewelleries, stamps and works of art as well historic buildings. Nearly three quaters of the museums are historic masonry buildingswhich construsted using lime based materials. For years buildings have been repaired and maintenance using inappropriate materials due to many reasons including lack of traditional materials and skilled workers. As a result, most of the building are susceptible to deterioration and damage caused by the use of incompatible and irreversible materials.
