Description of RCE and Geographic Region:

Network organization on formal, non-­formal and informal education on Education for Sustainable Development. Specifically to respond issues in East Kalimantan on poverty, degraded environment and quality of education.

Goals and Objectives:

Vision:

To provide a “global space for learning” for the community to learn and share experiences on implementation of ESD from international to local communities or vice versa.

Goals and objectives:

Long-term objective is to develop capacity on sustainable societies. Other objectives include:

  • to develop partnerships on capacity building in RCE and ESD concepts;
  • to develop promotional systems for ESD to increase public awareness on sustainable development;
  • to coordinate events to promote synergy among different actors, network building, and education activities related to sustainable development;
  • to develop individual capacity, with focus on communities and institutions to implant education on sustainable development;
  • to support coordination and dissemination policy, research and practice related to education for sustainable development

  • Leading on Home reading program to increase reading habits among children in early school ages
  • Successfully conducted workshop and International conference on the issue of sustainable livelihood program to eradicate poverty in cooperation with Ministry of Social Affairs and COMCEC OIC
  • Successfully conducted international workshop on DRR and ESD
