Thinking about GAP strategies

Dear friends, dear colleagues,

Now that the global ESD community celebrates adoption of GAP by the UN General Assembly, it is a good time to think what it means for our regions and stakeholders. I am sure the world will explode with thoughts on this metter very soon. Meanehile, let me share with you some preliminary throughts on the subject. These chapters (written by the UNU colleagues (ch 8) and by the members of the RCEs (ch 9) are part of the 10 years of the RCEs Book - http://www.rce-network.org/portal/sites/default/files/public_resource/01_UNU_10yearsBook_web.pdf. They are just initial attempts to see our role (as a community) in relation to this important process. We also know that many RCEs have already had significant role in advising UNESCO onthe ' shape' of GAP and on the implications of GAP development in their own countries. In this regards, our contribution is a continuation of a process.

I hope it can serve as yet another impulse for thoughts and actions. In addition to the ESD/SD projects that we develop in various constalations, it could be a good strategic exersise among our regional stakeholders and, among other issues, legitimises our actions.

The access to the GAP documentation on the UNESCO website is here - http://www.unesco.org/new/en/unesco-world-conference-on-esd-2014/esd-after-2014/global-action-programme/.

Good weekend,
