1. Leadership, Vision and Objectives
1. Vision of your RCE:
The vision of the RCE WA is to provide opportunity for greater coordination, strategic direction and creation of the transactional space needed to meet the expectations of current and future generations through intefration of environmental protection, socio-cultural advancement and economic prosperity. Our vision is to work collaboratively from within the network, with strong interdependent connections to existing networks and government departments, to develop and reorient existing education towards sustainable development. This requires that values that motivate and encourage people to live sustainably within the limits of their environment be embedded in each individual's everyday lives. By raising awareness and understanding of sustainability and the need to protect the natural resource base we hope to provide local people with the knowledge and support need to effect changes in their own lives. A particular focus is working with young people to help them establish a sense of place, understand issues of environmental concern, develop social responsibility both locally and globally and engage in learning as a life-long activity.
