Japan RCE Youth Meeting Highlights Regional Diversity as Key to Promoting Local SDGs and ESD

Co-hosted by the Yokohama RCE Youth Group and UNU-IAS, the 6th Japan RCE Youth Meeting was held in Yokohama, Japan on 16 and 17 February 2024. It was attended by 15 youth members from 7 RCEs across the country. The event coincided with the Working- level Meeting of Japanese RCEs hosted by RCE Yokohama with 19 participants.

Igniting Sustainability through Art: RCE Youth Art Challenge Exhibition at ESD-Net 2030 Global Meeting

The Global RCE Service Centre at the United Nations University Institute of the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) has organised the RCE Youth Art Challenge annually since 2021.

Through the powerful medium of art, this initiative invites young talents from around the world to share their unique perspectives and ideas on sustainability issues.

Side Event at 2023 ECOSOC Youth Forum Highlights Importance of Multistakeholder Partnerships for Youth-Led Initiatives

On 26 April, 2023, UNU-IAS organised an online side event at the 2023 ECOSOC Youth Forum, showcasing the commitment of youth leaders to environmental sustainability. The event, titled ‘From Ideas to Action: RCE Youth Projects on Multistakeholder Partnerships’, aimed to promote a deeper understanding of initiatives developed by Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs).

Japan RCE Youth Meeting Synthesizes Action Point for 2023

On 22 February, 2023, 17 young people from six Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs) in Japan came together at the Global Citizens Exchange Center in Aichi for the 2023 Japan RCE Youth Meeting. The event was preceded by three online sessions where the young participants got to engage with each other and share their individual initiatives.
