2023 RCE Awards for Innovative Projects on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)

Established in 2012, the RCE Award celebrates projects and programmes on ESD within the Global RCE Network, honouring RCEs who have made outstanding contributions to address local sustainable development challenges in their regions. 

RCE Americas Meeting Successfully Builds Connections Throughout the Region

The 12th Americas Regional Meeting was held in a hybrid format from 27-29 September 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, hosted by RCE Greater Atlanta under the theme 'Youth Engagement – Empowering Our Youth to Be Changemakers'.

ProSPER.Net Sustainability Forum

Time: 17:00-19:00 JST (in-person and online)

UNU-IAS will co-organise the ProSPER.Net Sustainability Forum as part of the UN Weeks at Sophia University. Under the theme 'Exploring the New Direction of Equity and Inclusion towards Transforming Education', the event will focus on the ramifications of the COVID-19 crisis on the provision of inclusive and equitable quality education, particularly its impact on vulnerable populations. It will also discuss the role of higher education institutions in striving for sustainability and inclusion in their activities.

ESD-Net 2030 Interactive Learning Webinar on ESD Pedagogy

As part of the ESD-Net 2030 series of learning webinars on ESD pedagogy, this 3rd webinar will feature four organisations (the Office of Climate Education (OCE); the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS); the Media Development Center (MDC) at Birzeit University, Palestine; and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Greece) delivering simultaneous workshops highlighting and promoting innovative practices in ESD.

SDGs Youth Summit 2023: Youth Empowerment for the SDGs

UNU-IAS will organise a session at the SDGs Youth Summit 2023 on the theme 'Youth Empowerment for the SDGs — UNU-IAS Stakeholder Dialogue'.

Held with the support of the Global Environment Outreach Centre (GEOC), the event will discuss challenges and opportunities to enhance meaningful youth participation in policymaking, and feature a panel discussion with RCE Yokohama youth member Ryoga Hiroki.
