New Video Features RCE Sustainable Consumption and Production Education Projects

A video featuring RCE Sustainable Consumption and Production education projects conducted during the Global Action Programme (GAP) on ESD, from 2015-2019, highlights some of the innovative projects conducted by the Global RCE Network focused on sustainable consumption and production. During this period, a total of 115 RCE projects focused on SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) across 31 countries.

Launching today is a new publication from the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS), featuring innovative education projects on the topic of sustainable consumption and production (SCP), developed by Regional Centres of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development (RCEs).

11th ASEAN+3 Leadership Programme on Sustainable Consumption and Production

The 11th ASEAN+3 Leadership Programme on Sustainable Consumption and Production took place from 11-14 November, 2019 in Bandung, Indonesia. Organised by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of Indonesia, the ASEAN Secretariat, and the Hanns Seidel Foundation (Jakarta and Hanoi Offices), this annual programme (run since 2008) has provided leadership training to key target groups, including government officials to raise awareness and inspire action on Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP).

RCE Thiruvananthapuram Holds Kerala School Agri Fest 2019

Since 2010, the Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA), the secretariat of RCE Thiruvananthapuram, has been organising an annual Children’s Agri Science Congress on a specific theme to inspire children to practice agriculture, to see farming as a dignified profession, and to provide them with an understanding of the scientific and social values inherent in agriculture.

RCE Crete Partners for MSc in Climate Change, Sustainable Agriculture, and Food Security

RCE Crete is a partner of a European Commission funded programme ‘Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education’ within the ERASMUS framework. The project focuses on the development of an MSc programme in Climate Change, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security held at Jerash University (Jordan) and the Suez Canal University (Egypt). The project involves four universities from Jordan and four universities from Egypt.

CISSA – RCE Thiruvananthapuram Wins ESD Okayama Award 2017

RCE Thiruvananthapuram together with its major stakeholder the Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA) has won the Global Prize of the Education in Sustainable Development (ESD) Okayama Award for 2017 for the project 'Kerala Children’s Agricultural Science Congress'. The project was selected for the Award from among 11 nominated projects in the first-round of selection. As many as 44 applications from 29 countries competed for the Award.
